11. A summary about the book and how you will use it in your classroom.
As
a family was on a picnic in the park they found a dog, they fed him and played
with him until lit was time to go home.
When it was time to go home the kids wanted to take the dog they named
Willy home but the mother and father was afraid that he belonged to another
family who would miss him. After waiting
all week the family went back to the park for a picnic bringing Willy his own
food this time. They waited and waited
for Willy to show and when he did he went straight by like flash of lightening
running from a dog warden. The boy and
girl use clever tricks to prove Willy is their dog. I would use this book to show students that
patients can pay off. I would read this to Kindergarten through first grade
students. I think student will be able
to relate to this book because as kids we try and talk our parents into taking
in numerous animals.
